For MTF transsexuals (transwomen) hormone therapy will cause the growth of breasts, redistribution of body fat together with the thinning and increased sensitivity of their skin. Hair loss can be halted or slowed but not reversed, facial hair continues to grow and there are no changes to the voice. There are a number of other changes, including substantial ones of a psychological nature. Many report reduced levels of aggression following a drop in their testosterone levels. Although hormone therapy dosages will be reduced for a transsexual post Vaginoplasty, they will nevertheless have to take some such hormones for the rest of their lives. Establishing the correct dosages can be difficult as the body typically takes some two years to adjust following SRS surgery. (Please refer to the Transsexual FAQ for more).
